Errol Airfield was the place to be on Saturday 16th of May as Morris Leslie Auctions hosted their second Classic Car event of 2026. The number of classic motors, bikes and memorabilia quickly rose to nearly 150 lots as the big day approached.
As with all auctions at Morris Leslie, the doors were open to the public and that presence was undoubtedly felt over the weekend, with bidders and enthusiasts filling all seats and standing zones less than half an hour into the event.
Phone lines and online bidders competed fiercely with buyers on the auction floor for the in-demand black Porsche 911. The twice-owned coupe, retaining its original documentation, was the talk of the Airfield as 30 bids were placed to secure the sports car for a total of £23,865; the highest sale of the event.
It was a great day out for the Porsche family as the 944 (£10,857.50) and Boxster (£5,170) combined for over 40 bids across the telephone, online and hall. The former 1990 example being the highest non-reserve classic to sell, with both the 2001 Boxster and 2002 911 overtaking their estimates with ease.
Elsewhere, the auction house featured a unique Shelby Cobra 427 replica in the 2012 silver Pilgrim Sumo. This high-performance V8 reproduction vehicle attracted many on lookers when carefully placed within the Jim Clark Hall. With only 1,288 miles on the clock, this bespoke build sold above reserve, with the hammer dropping at £21,500.
During the auction, we saw The Spirit of Ecstasy atop a 1986 forest green Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit achieving £7,955, with long-time rivals Bentley represented by its 1963 two-toned grey and blue S3, selling for £20,855.
Triumph enthusiasts were in heaven as two 1971 red TR6’s were brought to the line-up, selling for £10,965 and £9,675 respectively, with a beautifully dark blue TR7 convertible (£6,450) and MK4 Spitfire (£2,805) completing the family reunion, all selling within or above their reserve guide prices.
Morris Leslie’s second Classic Car Auction has seen resounding success, with over 75% of classic vehicles sold within or above their reserve guide prices, making Scotland’s only dedicated Classic Vehicle Auction House the perfect location to rehome your classic at the right value for you.
