“I SWEAR” Star Features At February Classic Auction

Last Saturday, at Morris Leslie Auctions, we saw over 100 lots of Classic Cars, Bikes, Trucks and memorabilia line up for their chance in the spotlight as we hosted our first Classic Auction of 2026. Proudly open to the public, we saw a large number of attendees eyeing their next passion project at our home base in Errol, as we logged over 50k views online through YouTube and Facebook Live Streams reaching as far as New Zealand and Australia.

Taking the ‘gold medal’ for highest selling car was the stunning Jenson Interceptor Series III. This vivid blue example was brought to our auction fitted with Chrysler’s 440 V8 engine and their powerful 3-speed TorqueFlite transmission. Blended with Italian flair and American muscle, the fastback British Classic was originally sold in Tangerine with a black vinyl roof and a comfortable leather interior. Our auctioneers were kept busy as over 45 bids were placed, both online and within the hall, to finally acquire this British Grand touring Classic for £22,252.50.

Other highlights include Leyland’s 1978 MINI Clubman 1100 in gold, as the sought after ‘Wood & Pickett’ inspired rebuilt Classic sold for £7,780, closely followed by the 1985 Land Rover 110, a previously used fire truck in Wales, selling for £7,740.

The February auction saw many eras of Classics on offer such as the 1936 Invicta Special, a brilliant restoration project for any car enthusiast (£3,630), a compact 1964 Morris Minor 1000 (£3,135), a dark brown 1973 Ford Escort (£6,450), and a very well looked after, and rare, 1952 Fiat Belvedere (£6,665). We also saw the  emergence of modern classics such as the 2002 phased out Audi A2 (£1,650), alongside the 2010 L320 first generation Range Rover Sport (£3,300).

In addition to our strong performance, we offered the very Austin 1100 MKIII featured in BAFTA award winning movie ‘I SWEAR.’ This famous vehicle has seen thirteen owners prior to stardom and with its family brand already creating a legacy on British roads, this example takes it a step further, selling for £2,050.

As well as our guided range, we held a number of vehicles without reserve, including our cover star, the vibrantly yellow Volkswagen Beetle 1200. This immaculately kept 1976 saloon had just former keeper for almost ten years after being imported from Japan. The Beetle saw popular demands from bidders as they fought to secure ownership with the final bid coming in at £7,525.
