HGV Driver Class 1 – Bedford

Role: HGV Class 1 Driver – Ampthill, Bedford
Basic 45 hours per week – 7.30am to 5:00pm, earlier starts may be required.
Monday to Friday – Permanent

About you:

Are you a determined individual with experience of working as an HGV Class 1 Driver? Are you a people person who is great with customers?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our reputable team at Morris Leslie Plant Hire as a full time HGV Driver based at our Ampthill depot.

You will be busy delivering and collecting a wide range of hire equipment from customer sites and our other depots in a timely and professional manner.

Duties also include ensuring vehicles and loads are safe and compliant, customer familiarisation (if required) and completion of all associated checks and administration.

You will work closely with local hire and service teams regarding machine status, condition, customer needs and route planning and will ensure you load and unload heavy construction goods safely and fasten them securely working to national compliance standards.

What you’ll need:

• Experienced Driver with a current HGV Class 1 License
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Have a sound understanding of plant equipment
• Be experienced in multi-site deliveries/collections
• Have achieved your CPC and Digital Tacho qualifications
• Experience of using a mobile tablet data system is advantageous but not essential
• Flexible, positive ‘can do’ attitude
• Strong self-management and problem-solving skills
