Nearly New Excavator and Nearly New Telehandler

Morris Leslie Plant Hire Ltd has purchased a large consignment of Volvo excavators as part of its 2017 investment programme

Morris Leslie has bought 66 new Volvo compact excavators as well as five reduced-swing ECR145Es and seven 14-tonne EC140Es, to be distributed around its nationwide depot network.

The compact excavators include 24 of the ECR25D and 16 of the ECR50D zero-swing models along with 10 reduced-swing ECR88Ds and 16 conventional EC55Cs.

“Since purchasing a significant quantity last year, our Volvo compact excavators have proved themselves in terms of reliability, operator acceptance, ease of maintenance and of course their performance,” said managing director Graham Ogilvie. “Opting for equipment that has a good pedigree with these attributes in mind is critical to us and these machines have done just that.

Based on these facts it wasn’t a difficult decision to choose more Volvos as part of our continued expansion plan for 2017 and most importantly our continued positive relationship with one of our core partners.”

The arrival of the new machines coincides with the Morris Leslie’s recent acquisition of four former Hewden depots in Inverness, Whitehaven, Birmingham and Bedford.

“The acquisition of these new depots is strategically important to our expansion plans,” added Graham Ogilvie, “and we are pleased to say that we have managed to retain and recruit over 50 employees at all four depots, giving both them and our customers continuity, stability and a sound platform on which we can expand upon.”
